肝硬変と膜性増殖性糸球体腎炎様病変を合併した日本住血吸虫症の1剖検例

Abstract

An 80-year-old female was hospitalized because of abdominal bulging. She was diagnosed as having discomensatory liver cirrhosis, judging from her physical findings and laboratory data. Her ascites immidiately disappeared after duretics were administered. However, eight weeks after admission, her ascites developed and were reflectory to diuretics. Her consciousness was confused, and 12 weeks later, she died of aspiration pneumonia. The autopsy findings were as follows. The liver was cirrhotic and Schistosoma japonica (Sj) eggs were scatteredly present in the Glisson's capsule. The kidneys contained lesions which resembled membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN). She was finally diagnosed as having Sj complicated with liver cirrhosis and secondary MPGN. It seemed that the occurrence of MPGN was related with immunological reactions of Sj. We here report a rare autopsy case of Sj complicated liver cirrhosis and secondary MPGN.
